Barak Tal is a senior partner at Arnon, Tadmor-Levy, and heads the firm’s Litigation Department. His primary area of expertise is litigation. With extensive experience and proficiency spanning a broad range of legal domains, Barak’s outstanding mastery is unique. His core expertise lies in civil-commercial litigation, encompassing contract law, corporate law, insurance law, communications law, banking law, securities law, consumer law, business restriction laws, and more.
A distinct area of his specialization within civil litigation is class actions and derivative lawsuits. Barak primarily represents defendants in such cases, of which he has handled hundreds, including some of the largest class actions ever filed in Israeli courts. Barak also has experience defending individuals in white-collar criminal cases, and has been involved in several high-profile cases in this realm.
Additionally, Barak handles administrative and constitutional litigation, including petitions to the Supreme Court, and represents major commercial companies in regulatory proceedings against state authorities. Among his clientele are many of the largest companies in Israel and abroad, banks, insurance companies, communication companies, and aviation firms.
Barak boasts rich experience in representing airline and tourism companies in litigation processes, particularly class actions in which violations of Israeli and foreign law were alleged. He has represented clients in some of the most significant and influential cases in the field, which in some instances have shaped aviation and unique consumer laws in this sector. Moreover, Barak provides ongoing counsel to airline and tourism companies across various domains, and represents foreign airlines operating, or seeking to operate, in Israel, advising them on their obligations under relevant law.
At the onset of his legal career, Barak served as a teaching assistant for several years in the Faculty of Law at Tel Aviv University, focusing on criminal law. In recent years, Barak has led seminars as part of the master’s program in the Faculty. He is also active as a lecturer in training programs for lawyers.
