Bio

Ortal is a partner in our firm’s Commercial Litigation Department. She focuses on advising notable foreign companies as well as Israeli industry leaders in international and domestic complex disputes.

Having personally handled, and been involved in, numerous large-scale, high-profile, precedential civil proceedings, class actions and regulatory matters, Ortal has extensive experience and knowledge of civil, commercial, and corporate law, antitrust and competition law, private international law, securities, banking and finance, online trading, PPPs and BOTs, and administrative law.

Prior to embarking on her legal career, Ortal produced the news for the most widely-circulated daily newspaper in Israel, Yedioth Ahronoth (2001-2006), and was a consultant and

account manager in the public relations agency Shalmor-Scherf Communications (2006-2007).

After her internship in the firm, Ortal edited and produced a weekly legal magazine radio program for nationwide Israeli radio network, Galei Zahal.

Ortal received her LL.B., magna cum laude, from Tel Aviv University in 2006. She is fluent in Hebrew and English.

  • Represented the largest Israeli provider of nonbank consumer credit services in a class action alleging illegal early repayment fees.
  • Represented the second largest commercial bank in Israel in class actions related to securities and online trade.
  • Represented MTS, the franchisee for the Tel Aviv Light Railway, against the State of Israel in a NIS 2 billion arbitration.
  • Represented senior executives in the second largest commercial bank is Israel before an independent review board appointed in relation to US investigations.
  • Represented ICL Group in arbitration proceedings regarding the price of potash, and allegations of involvement in an international cartel.
  • Represented a group of local healthcare companies in a contractual arbitration against a multinational healthcare company specializing in dialysis products and services, concerning an earn-out clause.
  • Represented IDE Technologies in an arbitration against the State of Israel regarding a BOT project.
